As a recipient of Federal funding from the US-Department of Transportation, The Wave Transit System is required to administer a Disadvantaged Business (DBE) Program. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program, as described in Title 49, Code of Regulations, Part 26, offers certified DBEs equal opportunity to compete for Federally-funded contracts.

The Wave Transit System DBE Program will:

  • Provide outreach services & distribute bid information
  • Certify Disadvantaged Business Enterprises
  • Perform periodic monitoring & reporting of all Federally-funded projects

Who qualifies for DBE certification?
There are three qualifying factors used to determine eligibility for DBE certification:

  1. Business size
  2. Control-ownership
  3. Personal net worth
